How Compare Fractions|What is a large numerator fraction ? Kids will learn how to compare fractions given large numerator and denominators. When denominators of fractions are similar, it is easy to perform calculations on them. But if the fractions have different denominators you can not easily distinguish between the fractions. To do that, their denominators need to be made similar. Learn and practice more with the quiz: “Compare Two Fractions With Large Numerators – Denominators”. If the question is, “4/20 _ 18/24”, you need to make their denominators similar. To do that, find the least common multiple of both the denominators. In this case, it is 120. Now find the number for each denominator which when multiplied by them gives the common denominator 120. For 20 it is 6, for 24 it is 5. Find that by dividing the respective denominators by 120. Now multiply both the numerators and the denominators of both the fractions by their respective numbers to make the denominators similar. 4/20 will change to 24/20, and 18/24 to 90/24. Since 90 is greater than 24, your filled blank will be “is less than”. Answer 80% of questions right to pass your quiz. If you want your parents and teachers to know how productively you were spending your time, there is an option to print your results too. Happy learning geniuses! Check other math resources Here.
